Yes it is very disappointing that the castle does not come with the figurines; however, I found the castle to be a perfect toy for a little boy. There are so many sounds, trap doors, hiding places and even an hand elevator that works smoothly, that a child can't help but have fun. As long as you know that you will not be receiving the figurines with it, you won't be unhappy. 

This has turned out to be my son's favorite Christmas toy. The figures are hard to find and are expensive. The best judge of a toy is a child and he loves it.
